This manual applies to Disto XBLE devices with serial numbers 785 and earlier, and Bluetooth module version 0.3.3. This manual will guide you through the upgrade process to version 0.4.0. The new firmware version offers faster Bluetooth connection speeds and improved compatibility.
1. Download and install the SI Connect app (By Silicon Laboratories) from the Google Play Store.
2. Open the app, and it will automatically search for Bluetooth devices. Select the Disto XBLE device and connect to it.
3. To check the bluetooth firmware version number: In the list of services after connecting, first select Device Information. In the pop-up list of characteristics, find Firmware Revision String and click on its corresponding Read button. The value read should be 0.3.3_2022.11.4 or similar.
4. Click the OTA Firmware button in the upper right corner, select "Partial" and "Speed" in the pop-up dialog box, then select the BG22A3_033_Transition.gbl file, and finally select "Upload" and wait patiently for the upgrade to complete.
5. Once the progress bar reaches 100%, you must press the End button and wait for the Bluetooth module to restart automatically. SI Connect will then automatically reconnect to the Bluetooth module.
6. After upgrading and reconnecting, please use the method described in step 3 to check the firmware version again to see if it has changed to 0.3.3_Transient.
7. After confirming that the version number has been 0.3.3_Transient, please press the OTA Firmware button again, select Partial and Speed again, choose the BG22A3_040_20240725 file (the different file), and press Upload.
8. Once the progress bar reaches 100%, you must press the End button and wait for the Bluetooth module to restart automatically. SI Connect will then automatically reconnect to the Bluetooth module.
9. After upgrading and reconnecting, please use the method described in step 3 to check the firmware version again to see if it has changed to 0.4.0_20240725.
10. Disconnect the App from Device and close it. Switch off and Switch on to restart Disto XBLE. Upgrade finish.
